Welcome to my blog on education. I hope this will not only be of use to me, but others out there in cyberspace who may stumble on information, resources, and methods I may post on this blog.
When I finish the Willamette MAT program, I hope to teach elementary students (ideally 3rd to 5th grade). I really enjoy interaction with students of that age as they are full of excitement and energy, yet have begun to develop the ability to think a little more deeply. I'm interested in teaching a variety of subjects which is one of the reasons I was interested in elementary education.
Before entering the MAT program, I taught English in South Korea for 10 years. It was a great experience and is where I discovered I really wanted to pursue this as a career in the US as well. I look forward to visiting South Korea again soon.
My hobbies used to include playing and watching sports, listening to music, playing bass guitar, and film. I hope to resume these hobbies sometime in 2012.
